الملخص:Twenty humar extracted premolar teeth were randomly divided into 4 groups, group I, The aim of this was to investigate the effect of application of flowable composite resin as an intermediate layer toward the microleakage of packable composite resin restorations with ramped and conventional light curing technique. for flowable composite resin application, IA which was performed ramped curing technique and IB which was performed conventional curing technique, then group II, without flowable composite resin application, IIA which was performed ramped curing technique and IIB which was performed conventional curing technique. Specimens were stored in artificial saliva for 24 hours at 37 o C incubator, thermocycled at 60 o C and 40 o C each for 1 minute and repeated 25 times then immersed in 2% methylene blue dye for 24 hours at 37 o C incubator and centrifuged for 5 minutes at 3000 rpm. Specimens cutted into tow pieces with separating disc vertically in mesiodistal direction, and dye penetration was assessed using stereo microscope 250 magnification according to 0-3 scoring point. Data was analyzed using Kruskal Wallis 95% and U-Mann Whitney tests at <0,05 significance level and 95% confidence level. + The results showed the effect of application of flowable composite resin with curing techniques (p = 0.016) toward the microleakage of packable composite resin restorations. The results of microleakage means of group IA (1.40 0.548), IIA (2.20 + 0.447), IIB (2.40 + 0.584), and IB (2.80 + 0.447). Conclusions of the study that there were the effect of application of flowable composite resin as an intermediate layer toward the microleakage of packable composite resin restorations with ramped and conventional light curing technique.
