總結:The population of Jakarta, based on BPSâ census in 2010, is 9.6 million people. With that huge number of population, Jakarta will not be able to accomodate the needed land for residential in the future. To solve that problem, PT. Tangerang International City (PT. TIC) conducted a project to build 6 reclamation islands with polder system in Jakarta Bay. The construction of reclamation islands require a lot of material for the dike and the polder area and nowadays, a good quality of construction material is rare and very expensive. To reduce the total cost, a research about alternative material is needed. This research focus on the hydraulic design of the dike. It is include the use of alternative armor material and optimization of the dikeâs design to reduce the total cost. The research started with the sketch of dikeâs design, then calculating the crest height with PC-Overslag, determining the weight of alternative armor material, total cost calculation and optimization. The result of this research is the optimized dikeâs geometry of profile 12B, which have lower slopeâs angle of 1:3 with Xbloc material, 10 m berm width at LWS +2.6 m, upper slope angle of 1:2 with rock material with weight less than 1 ton, and 13 m crest width at LWS +9,2 m. Further analysis produce some informations to reduce the total cost, such as use a steep angle both in lower and upper slope, use a rock material with weight less than 1 ton and use a narrow berm. The most effective way to use Xbloc material is in a steep slope (ï£1:2). But in this case, Xbloc well be used in a gentler slope (1:3). Theoritically, it works, but a laboratorium test is still needed.
