Description
Summary:Cardiovascular disease is a degenerative disease that is a major killer in Indonesia, one of which is caused by dyslipidemia. Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr, Cassia angustifolia Vahl and Curcuma domestica Val can be used as an agent known antidislipidemia. The study was conducted to determine the effect of the combination of ethanol extract of G.procumbens (SN), C.angustifolia (DS) and C.domestica (RK) against barriers dyslipidemia, aortic plaque formation and fatty liver of test animals induced propylthiouracil (PTU). Testing the activity of the combination antidislipidemia SN:DS:RK performed on male Wistar rats induced 0.01% PTU (mixed in drinking water) for 14 days followed by administration of a combination preparation SN:DS:RK for 14 days with a fixed given PTU. Test animals were randomly divided into 8 groups: negative control (Na-CMC 0.5%), positive control (simvastatin dose of 7.2 mg/kgBB), the combination of SN:DS:RK (50:50:0%), SN:DS:RK (0:50:50%), SN:DS:RK (50:0:50%), SN:DS:RK (33.3:33.3:33.3%), SN:DS:RK (100:100:100%), and normal control. Each group measured levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL at day 0, 14 and 28, as well as liver cholesterol levels on day 14 and 28 data change lipid levels and then converted into percent reduction in lipid levels, and the data changes in liver cholesterol is converted to cholesterol changes liver for non-parametric statistical analysis. The results showed that administration of a combination of SN:DS:RK (50:0:50%) have antidislipidemia activity is better than any other combination (lower total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol and liver respectively 6.46 ± 5.11%
