總結:ABSTRACT A study on synthesis of Co(II)-phenantroline and Co(II)-bipyridin complexes has been conducted experimentally and computationally. Experimentally, the complex was synthesized by either adding 1,10-phenantrolin or 2,2'-bipyridin to the solution of Co(II) at various pH. Stoichiometric ratios between Co(II) and 1,10-phenantrilin and 2,2'-bipyridin ligands were determined spectrophotometrically, while the characterization of the complexes formed were perfOrrried with infrared spectroscopy. In addition to this laboratory experimental approach, computational approach has also been conducted to determine the most possible structures of the complexes. The determination was done using hyperchem software with ZINDO/1 semiempirical method. The results showed that synthesis of Co(II) phenantrolin and Co(II) bipyridin was optimum at pH 6, respectively. The Stoichiometric ratios between Co(II) and both 1,10-Phenantrolin and 2,2'-bipyridin were 1:3. The stoichiometric ratios obtained by laboratory experiment were confirmed by the computational approach, and the geometric structure of the both complexes were octahedron. Based on analysis of stability, based on both unhampered and minimum energy complexes, compared to Co-Bipyridin, Co-Phenantrolin was observed more stable. Keyword : study on the of Co(H)-phenantrolin and Co(II)-bipyridin.
