Description
Summary:Two phase flow in a pipe gives a different flow pattern and charateristic of inter-phase slip. The flow pattren can be identified with the fluctuation of pressure reduction. Leakage detection should determines the charatristic of flow pattern before a point of the leakage is identified. Leakage detection of two phase flow is more complicated involving phase distributions in the pipe and the location of the leakage around the pipe. Form of leakage that was studied has a 7 mm for diameter and in radial position (bottom, side, and top of the pipe). This research uses two pressure differential tranducers which installed on the upstream side (before the leakage) and the dowsntream (after the leakage) with a distance is 400 mm. Fluctuation of the pressure seduction signal was recorded by using acquisition data and prosessed by using Digital Signal Procesing(DSP) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to produce the Power Spectrum Density (PSD). The result of this research shows that the pattern of the fluctuation of pressure reduction signal on the upstream and downstream side clearly changed and different, while the leakage occured at the bottom, side, and top of the pipe of plug flow, slug flow and stratified flow.
