Summary: | Recently, Ionic liquids (ILs) have attracted more attention due to their easy and wide use in industry and academia. They are also called engineering solvents due to their tunable behaviour, and the desired physical properties can be achieved by changing the functional groups in their structure. Due to readily soluble in water, ILs may pose to the aquatic environment easily which lead to study the toxic potential of those chemicals. Systematic assessment of ILs can provide the information about the ILs’ properties, toxicity and their ultimate fate to the environment. This study concentrates the toxicity study of imidazolium, pyridinium and ammonium ILs after their synthesis and characterization. |
