Due to that, Muslims need to act cautiously about the products they are consuming. The concept of halal products is gaining global attention due to its benefits in food and beverages, cosmetics, health, and other sectors. Products that are aligned with halal standards and policy are desirable by both Muslim and non-Muslim buyers. The digital era signals a growing population and increasing consciousness towards healthcare. This phenomenon results in an estimated rising demand for collagen supplements, creating more challenges for the collagen industry, such as limited sources, halal issues, and health issues. Collagens are present in all connecting tissues. Due to the high demands of collagen usage, collagen-like protein is introduced to the market to compete with the popularity of collagen. However, the halal status of collagen-like protein sources is questionable. Hence, ethical halal policy has become a crucial issue concerning recombinant collagen-like protein in this current era.
