Nipah, Pulau Tokong Behara, Pulau Jahat/Gut and Kg. Mukut. Investigation on intertidal invertebrates was carried out during low tide at the beach stretched from the right and left side of the jetty at Kg. Mukut to indicate how human activities would influence the diversity. Samplings were carried out in six different session starting from May 2018 and ended on October 2018 during daytime. Invertebrates were mainly recorded on video and underwater camera by the Scuba diving team. Loads of forest debris was found scattered on the sea floor at Kg Nipah while traces of anchored materials and old nets stuck on bottom sediment near the jetty at Kg. Mukut. As expected, the bottom at Pulau Jahat/Gut and Pulau Tokong Behara was in a more natural condition without clear human intervention. It is important to note the existing of some IUCN red list species and giant clam population in this area. Even though there is less number of tourist visits, uncontrolled fisheries activities could be the potential threat to the ecosystem and biodiversity in the southwest of Tioman. The data from this project would be able to help any immediate effort to improve the coastal management of Tioman Island particularly at the southwest area.
