Two level of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut were uses to complete this experiment. The different cutting parameters are used to determine the RPM (rotation per minute) and the C (cutting length) for L coding on CNC turning machine. Minimum Quantity Lubricant (MQL) was selected for cooling system because this method effective to reduce the cutting temperature by using a few millimeter (ml) of lubricant per minute. An observation by using optical microscope on two types of tool wear, crater wear and flank wear were found. However, the optical microscope only used to measure the flank wear (V ) to determine a life span of tool life. The maximum B width of flank wear for finishing process is below than 0.3 µm. The result show, maximum duration time for tool life is 270 second on experiment 3 by using 0.8 mm depth of cut, 0.125(mm/revolution) and 100(m/minute) for cutting parameter. The findings show that, uncoated micrograin tungsten carbide proven to increase quality of surface roughness where, the average of surface roughness is around 0.6 (µm) even the flank ware is more than 0.3 (µm). it is proven that Minimum Quantity Lubricant is evident to improve the tool life while the surface roughness is depending on material of cutting tool. 2013-11-27T03:24:23Z 2013-11-27T03:24:23Z 2013-11-27 http://ir.unikl.edu.my/jspui/handle/123456789/4875
