Single phase transformer can be sources of disturbing and annoying acoustic noise. The transformer core plays a significant role in the noise generation process. The influence of the clamping stress effects on noise levels have been investigated by means of a single phase transformer model. It has been found that the noise level decreases with increasing of clamping stress and those imperfections in the stress to core assembly have a significant influence on the noise level also. The equivalent continuous sound pressure level (LAeq) was used as a measure of the A-weighted sound level. The anechoic chamber is chosen to attenuate all unwanted sound that will influence the analysis.
