Summary: | This article aims to examine the views of a group of experts in the field of Islamic
banking and finance pertaining to the external or extrinsic factors in bank selection of an ideal Muslim individual. Extrinsic is often claimed as characteristically universal. Its traits of being neutral and value free are not only accepted by certain individual or specific group but also the society in general. Although it is not absolute nonetheless
anything that contains neutral elements are a social norm which generally is considered
pod. These external or extrinsic factors are also not exempted from motivating the
bank selection behaviour of Muslim consumers. However, an ideal Muslim individual interprets this matter quite differently. Anything which is neutral does not necessarily bring forth a good effect if it denies the Islamic values as its core foundation. In other words, each extrinsic determinant will not be free from associating it with the value

article attempts to answer this question by focusing the discussion on various views of
a group of experts interviewed who are amongst the religious figures, practitioners,
consultant and academician |
