Tanpa prarawatan, delignifikasi oksigen hanya dapat menyingkirkan sebanyak 36.72% lignin tanpa penurunan kelikatan selulosa yang ketara. Kesan pra-rawatan H20 2 adalah kurang memuaskan kerana walaupun daIjah delignifikasi oksigen meningkat tetapi kelikatan selulosa turut diturunkan. The effect of two different acidic pretreatments, namely hydrogen peroxide (H20 2) and peracetic acid (P AA) for oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) soda-AQ pulp were studied. Oxygen delignification without pretreatment was performed to remove 36.72% of the lignin without serious cellulose degradation. The effects of H20 2 pretreatment was not satisfactory since the cellulose viscosity was dropped even the degree of delignification was improved.
