Membina gelagat pengajaran yang berkesan merupakan aspek yang penting bagi pensyarah di institusi pengajian tinggi di Malaysia. Pertambahan yang mendadak institusi pengajian tinggi sektor awam serta tanggungjawab tentang kualiti pengajaran universiti telah menyebabkan penilaian keberkesanan pengajaran di universiti satu tugas yang penting. lni disebabkan banyak keputusan pentadbiran boleh dilakukan berdasarkan penilaian tersebut. lmej serta kepuasan personal dan profesional pensyarah juga bergantung kepada keberkesanan pengajaran. Oleh yang demikian, penilaian yang betul tentang keberkesanan pengajaran akan mewujudkan hubungan yang dapat menghasilkan komitmen kepada pembaikan profesional serta penyataan yang mengharapkan pensyarah dapat memberikan sumbangan yang bernilai untuk kejayaan universiti. Kajian ini melihat perhubungan terus antara personaliti dan ciri-ciri pekerjaan dengan keberkesanan pengajaran. Teaching effectiveness is a complex area of study without supported by an extensive body of empirical research. Developing effective teaching behaviors is a part of every lecturer in Malaysian higher education institution. With the surge in public demand for accountability in higher education and the growing concern for quality of university teaching, evaluating teaching effectiveness is a very important function in all universities because important administrative decisions could be based on these evaluations. A lecturer's image and personal/professional satisfaction are also based on teaching effectiveness. Therefore, proper evaluation of teaching effectiveness establishes a climate that communicates a commitment to professional improvement and a statement that is expected that each lecturer will make a valuable contribution to the achievement of the goals of the university. This study examined the direct relationship between personality and job characteristics on teaching effectiveness. This study also examined the influence of work experience as a moderator on the relationship between personality, job characteristics and teaching effectiveness.
