Description
Summary:The government has implemented various development projects involving various agencies and the private sector in the Orang Asli area. However, the goal of improving the socio-economy of the Orang Asli has not been fully achieved as there is a communication gap between the Orang Asli and various parties in conveying their desire for improvement of development projects to meet the Orang Asli culture practiced for generations. This study was conducted to examine the barriers of Orang Asli in the involvement of land development projects. The interview method with 3 Tok Batin and 5 representatives of the villagers was made to get the barrier factor to get involved in the land development project. The results of the descriptive analysis show that there are several internal factors that hinder them from being involved in the development process. It is suggested that development agents better understand Orang Asli culture so that this community can overcome the obstacles to the direction of development project involvement more actively. It is hoped that with this study, real views from the indigenous people can be provided so that barriers to involvement can be overcome.
