Description
Summary:Electrical Capacitance Volume Tomography (ECVT) is a non-invasive 3D imaging technique mainly applied to multiphase flows. As soft field sensor, ECVT suffers the low-resolution image reconstruction especially at the center of the pipe. This paper discusses simulation studies of the electric potential distribution at the center of the pipe for three plane ECVT system. The result shows that the adjacent dual excitation method in the same plane able to produce higher electrical potential at the centre of the pipe compared to other electrode and excitation configurations. This condition gives more sensitivity in the middle of the pipe and at the pipe wall which can improve the quality of image reconstruction to be applied in experimental setup.
