Description
Summary:Heterogeneous Wireless Access Networks (HWAN) referred to as 4G networks, also known as Next Generation Wireless Networks (NGWNs), which provide more radio bandwidth than present 3G networks. They are used to join a variety of wireless access technologies such as GPRS, GSM, UMTS, EDGE, WLAN, WiMAX etc. to form a common network that is IP-based; it provides a transparent, unified and continuous service for mobile users. One of the major issues is to support End-to-End QoS across all these technologies at all stages of the service from set-up to handoff. We present, in this paper, a method of mapping QoS of UMTS and WiMAX over a loose coupling environment across IP-DiffServ/MPLS network
