Summary: | Myriad of technological products are created to serve for a particular function are produced in a
large quantity without considering the quality and safety of the goods have been made available
in the market.Yet, due to lack of awareness, consumers tend to buy low-quality products as a
result of several factors which mostly by the reason of cost and pricing which make them
vulnerable to unsafe and risky products. Thus, this paper discusses on the effect of poor-quality
technological products, especially in a home that may harm the users as well as the safeguarding
methods provided in Malaysian law to protect consumers from unsafe products. The Interview
was conducted with legal expert and the finding shows that there is loophole as regard to the law
that regulates issues of product quality and safety. Thus, this study suggests that the law of
product safety and quality must be made comprehensive to ensure the law is able to achieve the main objective of protecting consumers from poor-quality products that may cause harm to the
users. |
