Summary:Risk management has becomes an important topic around the world. In order to achieve good governance practice, the involvement of various parties especially those inside the organization are very crucial. Among major internal mechanisms that contribute towards good governance practices are Board of Directors (BOD) and its sub-committee including risk management committee. The purpose of this article is to discuss the development of risk management practices in Malaysia corporate landscape especially on the role of the risk management committee in corporate governance framework. The risk management practices are highly influenced by the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance (MCCG) and Bursa Malaysia's requirements. This article will also highlights some of the studies conducted in the area of risk management. This article will ended with the future direction of risk management and corporate governance practices in Malaysia.
