總結:The development of power line communication emulators requires detailed knowledge of the different channel properties, such as channel characterization, introduction of noise to the system and channel capacity. There have been several studies which are conducted in characterizing the channel. These studies were used as guides by PLC modem designers to build a better design. This research aims to create an emulator that has the capability to replicate the behavior of an indoor power line channel and use it as test bed for a PLC modem. The implementation of the emulator is done by the use of the Kintex-7 and FMC151 for the analog front end. The channel model uses the transmission line models transfer function which utilizes the ABCD matrix. The analyses are done by comparing the theoretical results with the hardware results which are acquired with the use of MATLAB and Xilinx. The emulator features the addition of noise and various selection of transfer function that can be selected by the user to improve realism. The channel parameter root mean square (RMS) delay spread is obtained to ensure the quality of the channel produced.
