الملخص:This is a descriptive study of the concept of retirable age, attitude towards early retirement, perceived and experienced psychological consequences of retirement focusing on the aspects of family relations, social relations and economic status of Filipino workers. Forty government workers participated in this study. They were either retired for not more than five years or still working with ages ranging from 55 to 65 years. They are working either for the Education Department or the Local Government. The research was done using the interview method. Findings revealed that the concept of retireable age of Filipino workers is centered on 60 and 55 years old. The perceived and experienced psychological consequences of retirement are generally positive, that is, the respondents have a good attitude towards early retirement, and a bill proposing early retirement is generally acceptable to them.
