Authentic in the Intersubjective: A Dialogue of the Five Philosophers on the Problem of Other Minds focuses on the inclusion of the concept of authenticity in the problem of intersubjectivity. In this piece, five prominent philosophers who have greatly contributed in the matter of intersubjectivity will be discussed. The proponent will be identifying what authenticity means in each of the philosopher's works on intersubjectivity. The following viewpoints will be examined: (1) Jean-Paul Sartre's The Look, (2) Immanuel Kant's treatment of others as a means or ends, (3) Emmanuel Levinas' I-Other relationship, (4) Aristotle's three types of friendship: (a) pleasure friendship. (b) utilitarian friendship, and (c) character friendship, and (5) Martin Buber's I-Thou Relationship and I-It Relationship. From identifying what is authentic in all of the intersubjective relationships, there is a search for common theme in these definitions of authenticity. This only means that from their distinct views on human relationships, what is common in their definitions of authenticity will be identified. And, as discerned, the essential thing about authenticity is the freedom or the will to engage in a relationship. The Gadamerian hermeneutical framework: fusion of horizons will be used to fully understand and grasp the meaning of the piece. It is from this work that a number of significant claims are formed. Through this study, various stands of different philosophers regarding the problem of intersubjectivity and how human relations either in thought or in deed are revealed. It is also recommended in this piece that Habermasian hermeneutical framework, which deals with the juxtaposition of philosophy and social sciences, be used for future studies"
