Description
Summary:A descriptive study of the occupational hazards, safety provisions, health services and related occupational diseases was conducted in Pepsi Cola Bottling Phil. GMA plant. This was done through obtaining medical records, observing production process and by interviewing employees of the said plants. Cuts, ergonomic stress, noise, heat, broken glass, exploding bottles and accidentally falling objects were the occupational hazards identified. Diseases affecting the cardiovascular system had the highest mean incidence than that of the diseases affecting musculoskeletal, E.E.N.T., respiratory, immunological and gastro intestinal tract. The department having the highest percent incidence of signs and symptoms of diseases was the manufacturing department. This was derived by statistically treating the data acquired from the plant clinic using two way analysis of variance and Tukey's Test.
