A descriptive study on gender stereotyping on mate selection among Filipinos

The goal of this study is to find out who stereotypes more when choosing characteristics that they want their future mates to have. Is it the males, or is it the females? 200 single males and females aged 18-35 will be the respondents for this study.The method which the researchers will use to gain the data needed will be the survey method. The respondents will be asked to answer the survey questionnaires, and their respective scores will be tallied. The t-test using the alpha. 05 will be used to check for the significant differences between the various groups.Results show that males stereotype more than females. In addition, respondents from the low SES whether male or female chose more stereotypic characteristics as compared to their counterparts from the middle to high SES. And lastly, female respondents chose more female sterotypic characteristics over male streotypic traits.
