الملخص:This study sought to determine whether a significant relationship exists between parenting style and academic performance, self-concept and aggression of adolescents. The study was done using a correlational research design. Purposive sampling was used to select 90 parents and their adolescent children whose ages ranged from 13-17 years old. The researchers identified three parenting styles namely authoritarian, authoritative and permissive as defined by Diana Baumrind. Subjects were asked to complete a parenting style questionnaire, the Pasao Self-Concept Scale and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule to generate data. The scores were then correlated using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study showed that a significant relationship exists between authoritative parenting style and adolescents' self-concept and adolescents' academic performance, self-concept, and aggression. Although the remaining variables have a relationship it revealed a low correlation and therefore is of no significance.
