| 總結: | The study determined the different areas of parental involvement of Filipino fathers and mothers in relation to their child's school related behavior. In study 1, a total of ten fathers and ten mothers were interviewed to establish the constructs for the survey questionnaires. The data gathered from the interview were analyzed qualitatively and the clusters formed for the fathers were preoccupied, mentor, dilettante, provider, open-minded and compassionate and the clusters for mothers were controlling, permissive, loving, and patronizing. These clusters were then used as basis for the factors in constructing items for the fathers' and mothers' involvement in their child's school related-behaviors. The questionnaires were pilot tested to 400 parents through purposive sampling. The subscales of the fathers and mothers involvement were internally consistent obtaining high Cronbach's alpha values. The subscales were all significantly correlated with each other for the mothers' subscales but not all for the fathers. In the factor analysis with varimax rotation, the items loaded in three factors for the mothers and five factors for the fathers. |
