PGMI is operating in an industry where there are numerous players and intense rivalry due to pricing pressures. Although their is no single company that dominates the manpower services industry, those that employ about 2,500 and above command economies of scale and have earned a sound reputation for themselves. There are four changes in the macro environment that it needs to address in order for the company to have a basis for strategies: (1) The social change: Movement towards a more mobile lifestyle and urbanization (2) technological change: Increasing use of the internet (3) Economic change: slowdown in economic growth and (4) Politico-legal change: Retail Trade Liberalization Act signed by the President. After analyzing the environment, four strategies have been formulated in order for the company to meet the changing business landscape. (1) PMGI will use its proprietary knowledge on housekeeping and pest control services and adopt a market development strategy to meet the needs of new buildings being constructed as part of the trend towards urbanization (2) PMGI will tap its affiliates as customers to increase its manpower base in order to build economies of scale and institute competitive pricing (3) PMGI will institute an extensive skills training and development program to meet growing customer demands in the real estate industry and (4) PMGI will set up a system of standards and procedures in order to differentiate itself from competitors in the manpower services industry. The company still has no institute changes within the organization in order to successfully implement these strategies. The main changes will be in the systems, since the company lacks formal procedures, and the structure because the company needs additional personnel to carry out the strategies mentioned. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/4000 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Labor supply--Philippines Professional Maintenance Group Inc |

Professional Maintenance Group, Inc. is a company engaged in housekeeping and pest control services, which caters exclusively to Fort Bonifacio Global City tenants. The company is fairly young, about three years old in existence and has a total manpower of 97 field staff and 15 office staff.
