總結:St. John of the Cross High School is a school for the girls with a population of 790 students and 19 lay teachers. It is in its second year of implementation of the Individualized-Personalized Instruction (IPI) Program. Sometime before December, the family of Ms. Fronda, composed of her widowed mother and two brothers, and herself, decided for personal and sound reasons to go back to their home. Home meant the province of Camino, South of Manila. Much as she wanted to continue teaching at St. Johns, Ms. Fronda felt that her place was to be with her mother and two brothers who were younger than she. With this in mind, she applied for a teaching position at the Camino High School. She had learned by coincidence that the position she was applying for would be vacant in June. She was the first eligible applicant. Thus she was almost sure to be taken in. And now Sr. Winifreda, the principal, sat in the azotea, half-lighted by the reflection of the light from the inner room, looking out into the darkness. She was in a difficult situation herself. In February, the honor students have to be decided by the subject teachers in consultation with the class advisers and sister coordinators. Who will decide for Ms. Fronda? Her substitute? How valid would it be? In solution to the problem posed on this case, alternative actions were recommended by the writer on the latter part of the paper.
