| Summary: | This study aims primarily to determine the impact of being an adopted mother to the mother-child relationship. Furthermore, this study consider the age of adopted mothers’ adoption and their relationship with their adoptive parents. Moreover, this study also explores the status of relationship that adopted mothers have with their biological children. There were seven participants who were purposefully selected using snowball sampling. Descriptive interview method was employed in the present study to obtain data, and to understand the different aspects of being an adopted mother and its impact to mother-child relationship. Through in-depth interview, the researchers probe into the key moment incidents and other aspects of being an adopted mother and their mother-child relationship. Furthermore, thematic analysis was employed to analyze the data. The findings from this study suggest that: a) the age of the adopted mothers’ adoption has influences their relationship with their adopted mothers; b) adopted mothers had developed a secure kind of attachment with their biological children during the child’s infancy; c) being an adopted mother had a positive impact on the mother-child relationship. |
