總結:The emergence of Building Information Modelling (BIM) authoring software has given rise to the potential of effective and efficient information and data handling in the build industry. This project focuses on the issues of the traditional workflow of quantity retrieval for progress claim and proposed solution and alternate workflow to boost the efficiency by introducing automated quantity retrieval from BIM authoring software for progress claim. Software that were used in this project are Autodesk Revit, Revit Dynamo, Microsoft Excel, Python and C#. A workflow suitable for automation for quantity retrieval for progress claim is proposed and two case studies were discussed. The first case study is the quantity take-off of steel trowelled surface area from BIM authoring software. A Dynamo scripts with the aid of C# and Python programming were developed for this case study to achieve the automation in quantity retrieval. The second case study being the quantity take-off of waterproofing membrane surface area. A different Dynamo scripts with the aid of C# and Python programming were developed as well for the automation in quantity retrieval. In both case studies, Microsoft Excel is utilised to present the quantity extracted from BIM model. Through this study, it can be proven that alternative workflow suitable for automation can be adopted to automate the traditional workflow of quantity retrieval process for progress claim. However, more work has to be done for other quantities being used in the industry in order to achieve full Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD).
