總結:The project seeks to promote a deeper appreciation for the everyday sounds around us, and the emotions evoked when listening to them. Sound is described as a series of vibrations travelling through the air to create an auditory effect. As humans, when we think of sounds, we think of birds chirping, leaves rustling, waves hitting the shore. However, sounds should not be limited to the archetypal audio library we have in our heads. There are a multitude of sounds we hear in our everyday life that we usually do not pay attention to. Whether it be the sound of the refrigerator running, the fan spinning, or footsteps outside your door – everyday sounds actually hold so much meaning to them, but we often overlook how these sounds make us feel, how they interact with one another, and the memories we have attached to them. “The Everyday Sound” is an audio-visual participatory installation that aims to investigate how the everyday person perceives everyday sounds. It analyses human emotions as a response to seemingly mundane sounds. By creating an auditory library of everyday sounds and conducting primary research, this project will concentrate on the visualisation of sounds triggered by emotions.
