VISE is developed by a team of five students. In this project, the author shows that the VISE is able to provide text search function via Apache Lucene, and image search function via Multi-Probe Locality Sensitive Hashing (MPLSH) library. Consumers are also able to refine their results through filter and sort options. The author will also illustrate the development process of VISE, from requirements to architecture design and actual implementation. Certain factors such as consistency and maintainability were taken into consideration during the design process. The product search engine aims to enhance customer’s shopping experience through greater convenience and more accurate search results. It is organized and implemented in a way that aims to minimize efforts needed for future changes or upgrading.
