Participants’ data were from the archival records of an outpatient child psychiatry clinic. Findings indicated that peer problems was a statistically significant mediator for both associations— 68% of the total effect of attention problems on internalizing problems was mediated by peer problems, while 5% of the total effect of attention problems on externalizing problems was mediated by peer problems. Additionally, peer problems was a complete mediator for the association between attention problems and internalizing problems, but a partial mediator for the link between attention problems and externalizing problems. Findings and implications were discussed.
