الملخص: | Nowadays, using recycled aggregates to produce concrete, which is an environmental friendly and economical approach, is becoming more and more popular in construction industry. However, properties of concrete which consist of recycled aggregates may not be as good as what we predicted. Besides, quality of recycled aggregates also affects the properties of recycled aggregates concrete. Therefore, test on effects of recycled aggregates on concrete is important.
In this project, compressive strength of recycled aggregates concrete is highlighted. The author and his partner cast 6 batches of concrete cylinders composed of different portion of recycled coarse aggregates (RCA) (0%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 60%, and 80%). They conducted compressive strength tests on these concrete cylinders on 7th days and 28th days. After test on these concrete cylinders, the applicable percentage of RCA was determined. Following was casting and testing on two reinforced concrete beams composed of 0% and applicable percentage of RCA. This was to check the performance of concrete with RCA while combining with steel. |
