Summary: | An electrical vehicle (EV), also referred as an electric drive vehicle, uses one or more electric motors or traction motors for propulsion. Its harmlessness to environment, high performance and high efficiency of energy conversion make it one of the most promising industries in the future. A DC/AC inverter can convert a DC voltage source to AC voltage output and also has the ability to control the frequency and amplitude of the output voltage, which makes it widely used in EV industry. The main objective of this project is mainly focusing on designing a Sinusoidal Pulse-Width Modulated (SPWM) Voltage Source Inverter to control the frequency of the output. Firstly, the literature review gives an overview of inverter as well as its application in EV. Secondly, the report shows a design of control circuit to achieve the objective of changing frequency of the output. Thirdly, the simulation results are presented and analyzed. Lastly, the report will end by the conclusion and future application of the inverter. |
