總結:This study aims to investigate the internal and external driving factors affecting their decision to attend tuition and their effect on their willingness to attend tuition. A total of 3 hypotheses were formulated based on the literature that we have found. Data collection was done through quota and snowball sampling, using self-administered online survey on Qualtrics.com. After data cleaning and preparation, 153 completed questionnaires were used for data analysis. Our findings showed that parental influence (including both parental pressure as well as parental participation) was the major external driving factors. Also, internal driving factors were found out to be the more influential in the student’s willingness to attend tuition. However our study did not manage to prove school satisfaction was the strongest internal driving factor. A few limitations, such as time constraint, restricted our ability to reach out to the younger audience, whom are currently attending tuition. Future research could incorporate other factors, which were not considered in our study as well as explore the effect culture has on the tuition scene in Singapore.
