總結:This project aims to investigate the role in which graphic design can provoke thinking about the use of social media to interact in the digital age. As technology gets more accessible in developed countries in Singapore, we find ourselves interacting less physically and more on social platforms. Aiming to provoke thinking about how we interact through social media, this project focuses on the discrepancy between our online and offline identities. In addition, it also promotes sale of mock products which allows one to easily train themselves to become the “Ultimate Socialite”. Further in this study, an online survey testing a population sample of 50 have shown that many are aware of how social media are making us less social than what it seems. However, the mindset of the majority refuses to acknowledge how reliant we are on social media in order to interact in society today. Exploring the possibilities in the realm of Graphic Design, this project proposes a satire commentary by physicalizing the common online interactions on the social media platform. Deliverables which includes packaging designs for stickers, coasters as well as mock filters, aims to poke fun at how ridiculous one seem when interacting “online” when the only person you end up interacting with is yourself.
