Summary: | The Internet provides a good platform for hosting and maintaining learning materials
and educational programs. Interactivity and multimedia usage are some advantages of
this new way of learning – interactivity allows for users to absorb information more
readily with multimedia usage such as visual stimulation and animation enhances
learning. [24]
Developing a multimedia courseware is demanding, as it requires proper planning of
the content being presented while taking into account the needs of proposed users.
[20] The courseware should enable users to acquire new knowledge regarding the
topics and apply what they have learnt.
This final year projects aims to design an interactive multimedia courseware, which
covers the subject – Data Structures and Algorithms. Data Structures and Algorithms
contain challenging concepts that students may find difficult to comprehend.
Interactive multimedia is to be used in the development of the courseware as to
increase understanding of the concepts through animation and visual stimulations of
the operations of an algorithm.
Designing the courseware to be web-based is advantageous as a web-based
courseware allows an interactive learning environment where learning can be done
anywhere and anytime. The courseware aims to be learning supplementary aid to
understand Data Structures and Algorithms concepts. This report describes the design
development of the courseware and how interactivity is integrated in a web-based
courseware. |
