總結:Bone fractures are common due to accident and falls. The current-state of the art of stabilizing a fracture is by using of Locking Compression Plates (LCPs). Accelerated healing can occur when the blood supply to bone is taken care of. This project seeks to create and validate fracture fixation models of 9-hole LCPs together with Locking Head Screws (LHS) on long bones using Finite Element Method (FEM). The validation was done with Finite Element (FE) simulation of 3-point bending on the LCPs and axial loading and 4-point bending on the plate-bone constructs. The FE results on the construct reveal an under estimation of the stiffness in axial and overestimation of the stiffness in bending.
