الملخص:Dried seed powder of Mammea siamensis Kost. was extracted with dichloromethane in order to evaluate its inhibitory effect on Alternaria spp., Fusarium spp., Botrytis spp. and Septoria spp. The growth of test molds on PDA agar, mixed with dichloromethane extract of Mammea siamensis at various concentrations (0.01-1.00%) was measured. The results showed that Mammea siamensis extract possessed some inhibitory effect on all pathogenic molds tested. Alternaria spp. and Septoria spp. were somewhat sensitive to the extracts at concentration of more than 0.01%. Whereas, Botrytis spp. and Fusarium spp. were less sensitive to the extract at higher than 0.1% concentration. The first band of Rf ≅0.52-0.60 by TLC using siliga gel and toluene: ethyl acetate (80:20) for the first separation and Rf ≅ 0.62-0.71 for the second separation using chloroform: methanol (90:10) as stationary phase and mobile phase respectively showed antifungal activity. The main composition from the band of Rf ≅ 0.62-0.71 identified by GC-MS contained many compounds. However, the compounds of M. siamensis were not completely identified due to the incomplete purification of the extract.
