Second step is choose motor, transmission, and cutter-holder clamping unit. Third step is define spindle and its housing dimension and also bearing position to obtain static and dynamic characteristic of spindle module. Last step is choose bearing lubrication and analyze bearing heat generation and grease lubrication interval. Design of milling spindle module has been made, by specification power 11 kW and maximum rotation 5300 rpm. Maximum spindle static-deflection is 15 um and spindle resonant frequency about 1900-5300 Hz. Motor chosen for spindle module is Siemens 1PM4-133 and holder nose designed based on DIN 2079. This spindel design can be reference for milling spindle module producer. text
