Kalimalang river, as the main source of water in Jakarta, is considered to fulfill that need. However, the distance of Kalimalang river and North Jakarta is far enough, so it has to be created the distribution system for that raw water. To build the distribution system, design and planning are needed to get the safe and economical system.<p>The objective of design is to get pipeline distribution system that is safe from mechanical aspect, and economical from cost aspect. Design process is based on code & standards AWWA M11 and ASME B31.3. The route of design is from Kalimalang to Kelurahan Pulo Gebang, mostly are buried on the ground, and at the edge of Lingkar Utara Highway of Jakarta. Design process is being done with analysis of internal pressure, external loads, choosing pump, span limitations, and cost analysis. Modeling of design is made using software CAESAR II and Pipe Flow Expert 2008.<p>The analysis result shows that 16 inch pipe with sch.20 is used for pipe that buried in the edge of highways, and sch.30 for highways crossing. For railways crossing, pipe are covered with casing. Pump that used for the system has power 25,3 kW. Water production cost per m3 is Rp 2656 that still cheaper from market price. text |
