Lower Condition of Human Resources (SDM) is one of determinants which cause behavior of rural communities has not lead to environment reparation. The behavior is form of response from environmental stimulus. Form of response is consisted of passive response (knowledge about environmental problem and willingness to act) and active response (the willingness becomes a real action).<p>Bandung Selatan is potential area of agriculture in Kabupaten Bandung. Most of this region is rural area that experiencing degradation of environmental quality because of intensiveness of agricultural activity. Some rural problems emerge like floods, erosion, waters pollution etcetera. Some the problems requires active participation of communities with various parties to finalize it. This aim of study is to identify behavior related to Bandung Selatan rural communities. The Methodologies study was used is quantitative method by using primary data obtained through field survey and questioners distribution.<p>The results of this study show that passive response in the form of knowledge about environmental problem is the highest response. This response related to type of communities occupation and level of income while level of education doesn't show interrelationship significantly. Active response of communities is realizing from willingness to act. This response is an action of communities not only was resulted by passive response process of rural environment but also direct process from environmental problem stimulus. An action of communities was pushed and pursued by institutional and non-institutional conditions. Institutional conditions are leadership in communities, regulations and facilities while conditions of non-institutional are social and economic condition of rural communities. <br /> text
