But modifying machine has higher risk if the plan and design is not good enough.<p>One of the manufacturing company that produce spring and stabilizer for automotive industry now needs machinery development and modification. The machine that needs modification is called torsion spring coiling machine which can produce small torsion spring at 2 mm maximum diameter. The main problem of this machine is about the variation of product geometry. Angle variation between ends of torsion spring that produced by this machine is widely different from one product to another.<p>Angle variation between ends of torsion spring will make it difficult when assembled to another components by using automatic system. In this final project, the development activity is to improve product quality (makes angle between ends of torsion spring uniform) by modifying some parts of the machine.<p>The detail of activities are start from modeling the actual condition of torsion spring coiling machine. Next step is analyze the actual condition, especially in the moving mechanism. The last step is modify some of the mechanism and improve it by adding servo system components. <br /> text |
