Vetiver oil has been isolated from drying roots of vetiver plant by steam distillation. Color, smell and density of this oil were examined. Khusimol was analyzed by GC-MS. The oil was distillated by fractional reduce pressure and it's spot was determined from each fraction by TLC. Vetiver oil was produced by Steam distillation obtained in 0,7084% yield which color is brown-red but have a little sandbar odor. Density was 0,96132. Khusimol has retention time at 27,815 minute and value was 10,16%. Vetiver oil which is produced by steam distillation has khusimol value that appropriate with ISO 4716/2002. text |
