With the characteristic that low-energy, small-size, and also cheap, this node can do the communication in wireless, sensing and computation simultaneously. So, sensor network can be said as combination of sensing technique, embedded technique, distributed information process and communication technique.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> As an agrarian country, Indonesia instead has so many problems such as lack of agricultural areas, unstable qualities of its commodities, and also globalization. This plants monitoring system for geenhouse application is designed to overcome farming management problems in Indonesia by using wireless sensor networks technology.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an integrated system consists of wireless distributed and connected sensor nodes in a network topology and performs information extraction and sharing for further data processing based on its aplication. The system development is performed by simulation procedure using OMNeT++ simulator with comprehensive focus on all layers. Several parameters designed by this approach based on the application are clustered network topology, radio model, MAC protocol and routing protocol.<p> <br /> <br /> <br /> In the end of the research, its been designed a wireless sensor network system which consists 20 nodes that divided into 4 clusters, software in the form of TDMA-based MAC protocol, and a routing protocol based on agregation data. System performance has been well-analyzed based on result of layer communication simulation, so that it can be implemented because its already suitable with the greenhouse application. text
