Description
Summary:Dengue virus infection is an acute febrile disease that has become major public health problems in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world. One of the forms of the illness is Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF). DHF is characterized by plasma leakage that may lead to death. One of the factors that caused plasma leakage is cytokine that is produced by immune system. A dynamical model for Interaction between healthy cells, infected cells, viruses, and immune cells is built in this study. The dynamic of immune cell model can be used as an input for the diffusion model representing the transversal flow through vascular wall. Analysis of stability around the disease free equilibrium is done to obtain a threshold of stability of disease free equilibrium. Numerical simulations are shown for illustrating the dynamical behavior each compartment. These simulations can give more information in pathogenesis of DHF. Further, a diffusion model within vascular wall in the case of dengue hemorrhagic fever is discussed in this study. The aim this model is to analyze the relation between the increased level of cytokine and blood concentration within vascular wall. Numeric solutions of the diffusion model are obtained by finite difference method. Numerical simulations of the diffusion model are shown indicating the effect of cytokine for variations of parameter values. It is shown from numerical simulations that high increased level cytokine will cause high blood concentration in the vascular wall that may contribute to plasma leakage.
