Description
Summary:Electro Discharge Machining Die Sinking (EDM Die Sinking) is one of many non-conventional machining processes used in manufacture industries. The technology development demands that this process must have the ability to produce high quality product with good efficiency and productivity. To fulfill this demand, optimization of machining process that includes several variables and control factor must be done. Efficiency can be achieved provided that the selection of control factors used the production is optimized. To assist selection of the value of a control factor. In order to get an efficient production, the Taguchi method is chosen. The Taguchi method offers a simple method for optimization. The Taguchi method applies statistical methods, which will reduce the number of experiment and yet, be able to get the right combination of control factors needed. The quantity of experiment is depending on the matrix Orthogonal Arrays in Taguchi method. The uses of Orthogonal Arrays can generate of data about all combination of control factor. The experiment data from some combinations of control factor will be analyzed using two statistical methods, Analysis of Mean (ANOM) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result is that can be found the effect of each control factor in a process of production.
