Delta Mas City has a depth of ground water that is more than 100 m indicating that the area has a low ground water capacity. Delta Mas City now is in the progress of development. In the future the land use system will change from rice field to settlement and industrial areas. Such changing will reduce the infiltrate ability of land so the runoff capacity will dilate in downstream. Therefore, it needs a drainage system which not only could decrease the total of flood discharge in the river, but also could increase the soil water capacity. The permeability coefficient in the planning area is 3.6 x 10-4 cm/hour. It is not suitable for diffusion well that will need a 2-12 cm/hour, thus the water conservation systems to be applied in the planning area is retention pond and natural conservation (lake). In this study, Delta Mas City is suggested to build 7 retention ponds which will intercept the rainwater from 395.03 ha catchment area, that is 21.5% from total catchment area in Delta Mas City. <br /> text |
