Description
Summary:Gas hydrate is the crystallized form of gas molecules with water in relatively low temperature and high pressure. Hydrate forming process follows nucleation phase and growing phase. Hydrate crystallization process will start only in stable condition with the temperature and pressure is at the appropriate condition for hydrate forming. If the condition is not stable, the hydrate might be dissociated into water and its other forming component. Nevertheless, this condition is also often be used because hydrate is not always wanted. Unwanted hydrate occurs when the hydrate is formed in unwanted places, such as on gas supplier pipeline because it will plug the pipeline. To handle this problem, a lot of information according hydrate forming process is needed so that unwanted hydrate forming can be anticipated. Furthermore, we can also inject some inhibitors which can hold hydrate forming. To simplify understanding the process from forming to dissociating, special software is created to do the process. After simulation is done, the next step can be taken immediately to expand gas production or removing hydrate which plug the gas supplier pipeline. Concerning its high potential, gas hydrate could become a future energy source.
