Description
Summary:Upwellling identification according to oceanography parameter analyst carried out at South Java and West Sumatera Ocean. That used SST (Sea Surface Temperature) data from NOAA-AVHRR Satelite and then overlay with clorophyl data from SeaWiFS Satelite and Topex data to predict upwelling location at South Java and West Sumatera on 2002-2007. Fishing ground location predict at South Java and West Sumatera ocean at 2 degrees LS; 104.5 degrees BT and 12 degrees LS; 115 degrees BT, acquired from that data processing. From fish production data, appears correlation between upwelling upwelling phenomenom and blooming fish, where fish production increased on that upwelling period. However, to knowing more accurate results needs continuity from fishery accumulate data process, that is completing with fishing ground data and other possibility. From that process, we can make GIS (Geographic Information System). The results of GIS will use for the community of coast zone to their fishing activity. Fisherman can be more effective about fishing operation time, efficiency budget, fish production and can increasing catch results, from knowing about fishing ground area potential earlier. We hope that continuity from catch results upgrade, will give bigger income and economic development for all fisherman.
